Bonjour, Word of Westbrook readers! Men’s Paris Fashion Week was buzzing a couple weeks ago (despite the wild heatwave). Did you see any looks you liked? Read on for a few takes on how to engage with one of fashion’s biggest moments every season.

The men’s spring/summer 2027 collections were on view all week, with brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermés, and Dior Homme making a splash. New creative directors Michael Rider and Sarah Burton debuted at Celine and Givenchy, respectively. It’s always exciting to see the fresh approaches designers bring when they take their talents to new fashion houses; heritage is important, but so is innovation.

I think what makes this different is the material of the suit and design of all the accessories. I love the fabric, it’s not too shiny, but still good enough for you to pay attention to it.

I love a good, classic black tux. It’s really clean cut.

I really love this look. Probably my favorite look from the draft. It looks really nice and suited. Very well put together.

Love this. Double breasted tonal with the blue pinstripe. The accessories are great. Everything looks good and goes well. I love the pocket chains as well.

Fashion week this year has gotten me thinking about the importance of showing up and showing out with your outfits, especially if you’re going to be getting photographed walking between shows or sitting in the front row. 

When it comes to my looks, I like to make sure I’m wearing something from the brand I’m attending the show of, to honor the work and creativity that goes into each collection. It also helps to wear something you feel comfortable in — whatever that means to you — so your confidence shines through the camera. And, of course, a daring or eye-catching element always helps to make sure you’re standing out in a sea of well-dressed people!

Shoutout to Team Why Not for qualifying for the Peach Jam across all three age groups (15U, 16U, and 17U) — the only West Coast EYBL program to do so! This is a major achievement and an exciting time for the Westbrook fam. Now we’re headed to Augusta, South Carolina — wish us luck!
